Commercial Electrician
Field or Hybrid Field/Office Role Available | Top Pay | $5,000 Signing Bonus | Local Work | Career Home
If you’re a Washington State 01 Electrician who loves the trade—but also enjoys problem-solving, planning, and helping jobs succeed from start to finish—we offer two great paths at Lynden Sheet Metal:
- Full-time Field Electrician, or
- Hybrid Field / Office Electrician (split time between job sites and the office)

The Opportunity
We are seeking a commercially experienced 01 electrician who can contribute in the field and—if interested—take on a hybrid role that includes quoting and estimating.
Field Responsibilities (All Roles)
- Commercial new construction, repairs, retrofits, and troubleshooting
- Occasional residential crossover work
- Performing clean, code-compliant installations
- Working independently and with a team of skilled electricians
Hybrid Field / Office Responsibilities (Optional Track)
- Split time between job sites and the office
- Quoting and estimating for:
- Commercial electrical repairs
- Small commercial installations and upgrades
- Job walk-throughs and scope development
- Supporting service and project teams with technical insight
- Helping ensure accurate pricing, smooth execution, and customer satisfaction
This role is ideal for a seasoned electrician who enjoys using both their hands and their head.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Washington State 01 Journeyman Electrician License
- Valid Driver’s License
Ideal Candidates Have:
- Strong commercial electrical experience
- Solid troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Understanding of electrical theory and code requirements
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
- Professional communication skills
- Interest in estimating, quoting, and job planning (for hybrid role)
- Desire to grow into a long-term, trusted position within the company
Estimating experience is a plus—but not required. We’re happy to train the right electrician.

You’ll be provided a company vehicle and often dispatched directly from home using our computerized scheduling system.
We also do commercial work so there is an opportunity to accrue hours towards your commercial license.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential plumbing service, repair, and installation
- Diagnose issues and recommend effective solutions
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
- Communicate clearly with homeowners and team members
- Ensure all work meets code and company standards
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Valid Washington State Residential Plumbing License
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong customer service skills

Dispatcher / Service Writer
We’re looking for a Dispatcher / Service Writer to be the central point of communication between our customers, field technicians, and office staff. This role is critical to our daily success and ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, pays attention to details, and takes pride in doing things right.
What You’ll Do
- Answer incoming calls and assist customers professionally and efficiently
- Schedule and dispatch service technicians
- Create, review, and manage service work orders
- Review completed work orders for accuracy and determine if additional attention, parts, or follow-up is needed
- Communicate job details clearly with technicians and office staff
- Handle customer billing questions and provide support as needed
- Prepare monthly billing draws for commercial projects
- Assist department heads and sales staff as needed
- Update job notes, schedules, and customer information

- Be back up to main operator for company.
